SALT LAKE COUNTY, Utah (KUTV) — The Salt Lake County Council has taken the first step in a process that would block new mining operations in canyons.
Council members voted unanimously Friday morning to begin the process of prohibiting mineral extraction and processing in forestry and recreation zones. This comes after news of a proposed mining operation in Parleys Canyon.
